Duke of Edinburgh
We continue to proudly work with The Oxford Boat Adventure as an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to deliver Bronze, Silver and Gold level expeditions, both on foot and on the water. We have a hugely experienced team of DofE instructors and assessors who will ensure the successful completion of each expedition.
We can work with large groups such as a school Bronze cohort of 100+ participants or work with smaller groups of individuals working towards their Silver or Gold award. We will provide a programme that is tailored to your schools or individual’s needs. OPEN EXPEDITIONS - CANOEING
We have the following ‘Canoe Open Expeditions’ for individuals looking to join groups to complete this part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
BRONZE - CANOEING
Training and Practice Expedition – 2 days and 1 night – 17/18 August 2024
Qualifying Expedition – 2 days and 1 night – 31st August/1st September 2024
Location – Oxford Canal
SILVER - CANOEING
Training and Practice Expedition – 4 days and 3 nights – 28th to 31st March 2024
Qualifying Expedition – 3 days and 2 nights – 27th to 29th August 2024
Location – TBC
GOLD- CANOEING
Training and Practice Expedition – 5 days and 4 nights – 1st to 5th April 2024
Qualifying Expedition – 5 days and 4 nights – 19th to 23rd August 2024

What is Included?

A full time Expedition Course Director who will be available to assist with anything before, during and post expedition.

Comprehensive pre-expedition admin pack for participants and schools / parents / guardians, including consent forms, kit lists etc.

Assistance with expedition paperwork. We will complete operating authority notifications and risk assessment.

Experienced instructors holding National Governing Body qualifications relevant to the environment in which they are working. All our instructors hold a current and relevant first aid qualification and Enhanced DBS certificate.
