Forestry First Aid
This one-day emergency outdoor first aid qualification will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to respond to a range of emergency outdoor situations in a prompt, safe and effective way, particularly where professional medical help is not immediately available.

Duration:
A minimum of 2 contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities. This qualification can also be combined with the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work or 3-day First Aid at Work course, providing the minimum contact hours and assessment criteria has been achieved.
Syllabus:
A range of subjects covered are:
- Emergency planning and remote medical assistance
- Catastrophic Bleeding Control
- Crush injuries
- Effects of extreme cold
- Lyme disease
Certification
The practical and theoretical assessment is ongoing throughout the duration of the course and a three year qualification can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
Numbers
A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.
Age limit
Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age to attend this course.
